Decent book with horrible format

I think that while this book has great concepts and exercises in it, the format that these are presented is a bit bulksome and very difficult to read. His method of numbering is horrible. He has exercises (unnumbered), problems (numbered), theorems (numbered) and statements (numbered in a different format than the theorems). Finding anything in the book is a nightmare. Referring to a concept in the book usually requires something like "Go to the 45th page and then find the 3rd exercise from the bottom (exercises have no number remember). There is a line above that with the statement that you need." The whole book could use a major format overhaul. Then it would be a 5 star book.

Kindle edition review... great material but many printing mistakes in the kindle edition

I'd give this 5 stars if all the printing mistakes were eliminated (things like missing square root signs). I guess they're still trying to get the kinks out of the kindle electronic format. I assume these problems are not there in the regular printed edition, but I don't know.

The material itself is great... very thorough. Perfect for some who has taken an introductory linear algebra course already. Plenty of exercises.

This book explained a lot of myth intrinsically using linear algebra really clearly, but sound really complicated when reading literature in the applied fields.
But, I don't know whether it is the nature of the subjects or a lack of organization, you need to go back and forth through all the book several times to the really understand the subject and what the excises are looking for.

The generalization of the concepts of simultaneity, physical time and the nature of the speed of light within a four-dimensional spacetime framework leads to the conclusion that the symmetries embodied by the special theory of relativity can be realized using only a single postulate - the principle of relativity for physical laws.

Create Your Own Sand Mandala by Eileen M. Rose and Abby Rose Dalto is a boxed kit that enables you to make your own sand mandalas in the tradition of Tibetan Buddhists. Traditionally, the art of constructing sand mandalas is an ancient Tibetan ritual art that requres extensive training, a high level of artistic skill, and hours of meticulous work.

However, the sand mandala is not permanent (glued). They are constructed with impermanence and non-attachment in mind, as well as specific intent. The authors provide colorful examples of personal mandalas, as well as circular forms found in architecture, art, and sculpture, and explain the meanings of colors, totem animals, and sacred geometry. Step-by-step instructions are given to help prepare yourself and the items for mandala construction for meditation, healing and prayer, as well as explaining the many uses of mandalas. About the Author

Ian H. Witten is a professor of computer science at the University of Waikato in New Zealand. He directs the New Zealand Digital Library research project. His research interests include information retrieval, machine learning, text compression, and programming by demonstration. He received an MA in Mathematics from Cambridge University, England; an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, Canada; and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Essex University, England. He is a fellow of the ACM and of the Royal Society of New Zealand. He has published widely on digital libraries, machine learning, text compression, hypertext, speech synthesis and signal processing, and computer typography. He has written several books, the latest being Managing Gigabytes (1999) and Data Mining (2000), both from Morgan Kaufmann.

Eibe Frank lives in New Zealand with his Samoan spouse and two lovely boys, but originally hails from Germany, where he received his first degree in computer science from the University of Karlsruhe. He moved to New Zealand to pursue his Ph.D. in machine learning under the supervision of Ian H. Witten, and joined the Department of Computer Science at the University of Waikato as a lecturer on completion of his studies. He is now an associate professor at the same institution. As an early adopter of the Java programming language, he laid the groundwork for the Weka software described in this book. He has contributed a number of publications on machine learning and data mining to the literature and has refereed for many conferences and journals in these areas.>

Mark A. Hall holds a bachelor’s degree in computing and mathematical sciences and a Ph.D. in computer science, both from the University of Waikato. Throughout his time at Waikato, as a student and lecturer in computer science and more recently as a software developer and data mining consultant for Pentaho, an open-source business intelligence software company, Mark has been a core contributor to the Weka software described in this book. He has published a number of articles on machine learning and data mining and has refereed for conferences and journals in these areas.

Great Help for continuing to work on LSE Recovery

This workbook brought up many emotions and remembrances from my childhood that helped me to understand how my low self-esteem was formed. Working through it also enabled me to more closely see the ways in which my thinking controls my feelings and how often my thinking is distorted because of the negative feelings I have about myself. It was tough to work through but very rewarding.

Great self discovery guide!

I enjoy the combination of informative reading about low self esteem & the exercises of going through my childhood. It allows
me to address my feelings about the people, incidents & other
areas of my childhood, adolescence & teen years.
Through 2 stories in the workbook, it asks what were the negative
reactions to the situation, then asks how a person with healthy
self esteem would respond to these situations. These exercises
illustrated how to change your feelings to a situation that has
been uncomfortable before.
Following the order in the workbook, I enjoyed the variety of
going through the "obstacles", then reading a chapter of "Breaking the Chains of Low Self Esteem", then going back to the
obstacle exercises in the workbook. It seems like an adventure
and I look forward to moving on to the next one!

I'm so delighted to come across a book that really diagnose my long life problem I've been suffering . I was astonished when I realized that this book is describing almost exactly what is going inside of me as if the writer was sitting within me monitoring and recording every feelings , thought and behavior I came across.I think this book is writen by a professional who understands ,feels and cares about people suffering from LSE and trying honestly to help them recover.
